Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a chronic inflammatory lung disease that causes obstructed airflow from the lungs. Symptoms include breathing difficulty, cough, mucus (sputum) production, and wheezing. It’s typically caused by long-term exposure to irritating gases or particulate matter, most often from cigarette smoke. People with COPD are at increased risk of developing heart disease, lung cancer, and a variety of other conditions.
Emphysema and chronic bronchitis are the two most common conditions that contribute to COPD. These two conditions usually occur together and can vary in severity among individuals with COPD.
Chronic bronchitis is inflammation of the lining of the bronchial tubes, which carry air to and from the air sacs (alveoli) of the lungs. It’s characterized by daily cough and mucus (sputum) production.
Emphysema is a condition in which the alveoli at the end of the smallest air passages (bronchioles) of the lungs are destroyed as a result of damaging exposure to cigarette smoke and other irritating gases and particulate matter.
Testimony of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
Vitality is usually low in older people but this 70-year-old female has surprised everyone. She has had COPD for a long time due to years of smoking. She has shortness of breath, and could not walk more than 14 steps at a time without feeling breathless. She also has arthritis, stomach pain (Helicobacter pylori) reflux, and atherosclerosis. She was on Ventolin every 1 hour and on Prednisone for pain. She was ready to go to the hospital before seeing me.
I have dispensed this patient:
Herbal tonic for COPD, “Elixir of Youth” (potent garlic tincture) and she was put on my Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease Program for atherosclerosis, and antimicrobial tablets for Helicobacter pylori.
Follow-up consultation – 2 weeks later
Patient breezing has improved considerably, she can walk 1 hour now as long as it is not up the hill. “First few days it was such a difference, unbelievable, I am the happiest person in the world. I took Ventolin only 4 times in the last 2 weeks,” she said
Her stomach pain is less than 80% and her arthritis is better, not much in pain so she never had to take Prednisone since the first visit. The patient feels confident that she can go on her family-planned road trip around Australia.
